OPEN 2020 – postponed

March 12, 2020 By Oliver Sylvester-Bradley Leave a Comment

As event organisers the safety of our community is paramount and for the last few weeks we have been closely monitoring the rapidly changing situation around Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the advice from Public Health England and the NHS.

Due to the current escalation and increasingly likely introduction of social distancing measures we have taken the decision to postpone OPEN 2020. This has been a very difficult decision, and is not something we wanted to do, however following discussion with our speakers, sponsors and venue we feel it is the sensible approach.

We are aware that this decision is really disappointing. We have already spent many months working on organising a great event for you so we are sad not to be able to put the event on in June as planned.

What happens now?

Since so many people have expressed interest, and saved the June 11th and 12 dates, we will be holding an online event instead. Covid 19 will not stop us collaborating, it just means is we have to get better at working together in a decentralized but coordinated way. If you would like to be part of this new online event please add you ideas in the Loomio thread.

We will reschedule the face to face conference for a date later in the year and will announce the new date as soon as we can.

All tickets purchased for the June event will be automatically transferred to this new date. Once announced, if you are unable to attend the new date, a refund will be issued on request. If you have any questions please contact us.

Best wishes and stay well,
The Open Coop team
