What's our history?

The Open Co-op grew out of a shared vision of a better world.

• Gary Alexander's part is expressed in his book eGaia, Growing a peaceful, sustainable Earth through communications,
• Oliver Sylvester-Bradley's in his paper Participatory Democracy Networks,
• Josef Davies-Coates and Tom Salfield through their work on Quality Quids and at Uniteddivesity.
• Mamading Ceesay's through his knowledge of free or Open Source Sorftware development and interest in Viable Systems Models.

Following a presentation by Gary Alexander at WTF's the Future, on 30th May 2004, this group met and agreed to work together on that vision. This led to the foundation of The Open Co-op which was legally formed as a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) on 23rd September 2004.
